If you are looking to set up a
1920 x 1080 Full HD home theater surround sound system with a diagonal screen size of LARGER than 73 inches, you are most likely talking about buying a 1080p home theater projector (and front projection screen).
There are even bigger
high definition TV screen sizes available, but purchasing Panasonic's 103 inch plasma will cost you at least $70,000, and Sharp's 108 inch LCD is more than twice that price!
In contrast, for about $40,000 (without lens), you could be the proud owner of Christie's HD3K, their lowest priced 3-chip DLP 1080p home theater projector. The very best home theater projector offered by Sony, their VPL-VW200 BRAVIA SXRD 1080p 120Hz Home Cinema Front Projector can project a
beautiful 1920x1080 HD image as large as 300 inches measured
diagonally, and is only $15,000. |

To achieve the best picture
possible from a 1080p home theater projector, you will also need to purchase a quality 16:9 HDTV format projection screen, and install the projector and screen inside a large dedicated home theater room with minimal ambient lighting.
Of course, this room will also need a home theater receiver and surround sound speaker system. Source components such as a Blu-ray Disc player and HDTV receiver should each
be connected to the home theater receiver with HDMI cables, and you'll need to run a long HDMI cable to the projector.
Depending on your particular situation and home theater room setup, you may also need to invest in some home theater furniture such as a projector mount, speaker mounts,
component rack, and/or home theater seating. |
